Building Your Green Business Networks

Like many, you may find the process of implementing a sustainable business strategy a completely new challenge from business as usual. There is much uncertainty for business as it responds to the challenges and opportunities of climate change: legislation, technologies and solutions are constantly evolving and finding the right partners, suppliers and customers is no longer straight forward.

Sustainable business strategies require fresh combinations of new technologies and stakeholders working together to form different networks and supply chains.

At 2degrees we call these networks green business networks and our mission is to help our members build these, thereby giving them both the knowledge and contacts to drive forward their sustainable business strategy.

VeryPC

VeryPC is a company formed to produce more energy efficient and ethical IT equipment, the first GreenPC was launched in 2005 and featured an AMD turion laptop processor and passive cooling.

Since the release of the first GreenPC, further innovations have been developed, the 29W treeton, the 9W per user GreenHive, and the incredibly energy efficient GreenServers.

VeryPC's message is clear, 'Big IT' don't want to change, we are a medium sized company with relatively few resources, yet with our efforts concentrated only to the environment we have reduced the energy consumption of our equipment so significantly it can be measured in Trees worth of CO2.

Switch to just one GreenPC (from an Optiplex GX520) and save as much as 12 trees, switch to just one VeryPC Janus II unit (From an equivalent low voltage xeon unit) and save as much as 218 Trees, switch to one GreenHive unit (from a group of GX520's) and save as much as 129 trees
